Leong Yung Chang (Mr)

Mr Leong Yung Chang received his LLB (Honours) in England in 1992, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1993 through the Middle Temple.

In 1994, he was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of Singapore after undergoing pupillage with Mr. Harry Elias (a former President of the Law Society and a Senior Counsel). From 1995 to 1998, he worked under Mr. George Lim, another former President of the Law Society and a Senior Counsel.

In 1999, Mr Leong established his own law practice with several partners, and this partnership was later incorporated as a Law Corporation.

In his early years, Mr Leong handled mainly commercial and construction litigation, as well as some family law. From about 2003, he started handling conveyancing matters. And from around 2007, Mr Leong combined his knowledge of litigation and conveyancing matters to handle en bloc litigation in the Strata Titles Board and the High Court of Singapore.

In his fifteen years of practice in Singapore, Mr Leong was an active volunteer in the Law Society of Singapore, and was elected by his peers as a Council member of the Law Society of Singapore in 2005/2006.

In 2009, Mr Leong immigrated to Canada with his family, and was called as a Barrister and Solicitor in British Columbia in 2011. He now practises primarily Canadian immigration law, and handle hearings before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada as well as the Federal Court of Canada.

Mr Leong is now an active member of the Canadian Bar Association Immigration Section, has appeared on various television and radio programmes on Canadian immigration laws, and volunteers his time with various non-profit organisations.
