Mr Tan Siew Tiong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1983 with a 2nd Class (Upper Division) Honours degree. He was also awarded the External Examiners Special Cash Award in 1983. Mr Tan was admitted to the Singapore bar in 1984 and worked in a large reputable legal firm in Singapore before returning to the university to as a law lecturer at the Faculty of Accountancy. In 1988, he was awarded the National University of Singapore Overseas Scholarship and obtained his Master of Laws degree from the New York University. After a 5 year stint at the faculty, he resumed practice in a medium-sized firm before starting his own firm 9 years later, in 2000.

Mr Tan brings with him over 20 years of experience in litigation, arbitration and corporate law. His corporate law expertise includes banking documentation and advice, vetting, drafting and negotiation of contracts for agency, franchise, distributorship, joint ventures, partnerships, leases, hire purchase, contracts of carriage, general insurance and company law. His litigation experience covers litigation, arbitration, mediation and enforcement actions on civil, shipping and matrimonial matters.
